What better way to celebrate a birthday than by running a marathon?
Okay. There may be lots of better ways to celebrate a birthday.
But I’ve decided to run 26.2 miles. You can join me in Dolores, or, in spirit, by running wherever you are. Or, you can pass on the run, but still be supportive.
Here’s the deal:
On December 7th, I’m running a marathon on public land and gravel roads here in Dolores. I would love to have company for whatever miles you’d like to run. Just so you know: I run pretty darn slowly and I plan on stopping at the house a few times for fuel and to swap one dog for another.
If you’d like to run, but can’t make it to Dolores, no worries! You can run any number miles and just share them. I would so enjoy hearing from you and vicariously jogging along together.
For every mile run, I will donate equally to two non-profits: Buck the Trend, the mental health forum I direct for those in the horse community, and KSJD, the local public radio station. (I’m on their Board of Directors.)
How does this work?
Let me know that you’d like to join me (in person or in spirit).
After your run, tell me how many miles you ran.
For every mile you ran, I’ll donate to the above non-profit organizations.
Not interested in running, but still want to support the effort?
Donate to Buck the Trend, here. (FYI, Buck the Trend is run by Best Horse Practices Summit, a Colorado 501 c 3 non-profit organization)

Hope to hear from you, one way or another!
